Join the Women Impact Investing Network (WIIN) as we kick off our first virtual event of 2024, a workshop, followed by a panel discussion: Storytelling and Work-life Harmony on April 10, 2024 at 12pm EDT. We are delighted to have women who have successfully navigated career transitions in social enterprise, impact and ESG investing while achieving work-life harmony share advice with us – Katherine Kennedy, Evgenia Sokolova, Karen Wawrzaszek and Natalie Foley.

Co-hosted by WIIN Board Members Ranjani Sridharan and Laura Hill, the session will kick off with key insights from Katherine Kennedy, author of Speaking to What Matters. The workshop will focus on the importance of storytelling for women professionals. A rich panel discussion filled with reflections and advice from leaders across impact entrepreneurship, impact investing and ESG will follow. This event is on point with this year’s International Women’s Day theme: Inspiring Inclusion

Join the Women Impact Investing Network (WIIN) for our first in-person event since COVID in 2019, Farmer to Table: Building Resilient Food Systems on September 6, 2023 at 5:30pm EST at the Martin Luther King Library Jr. in Washington DC. Our expert panelists will discuss the challenges of building a resilient food system in the Washington DC Metropolitan area and propose actions to promote a sustainable value chain from access to land, labor and capital to policy to distribution and nutrition in the DMV.


Panelists will highlight the challenge of food deserts in the district, and organizations providing fair and healthy solutions including DC Jail Food Reform, Universal Free School Meals, and Food as Medicine for Medicaid recipients.

The Women Impact Investing Network hosted a discussion on the important role of public policy in impact investing and how impact investors and policy practitioners can engage as partners to achieve social outcomes.


The event addressed the topic from several angles, by providing an introduction to the important role of policy and impact, sharing practical strategies of how investors can accelerate impact and financial returns by supporting their portfolio companies through policy initiatives, and provided solutions on how to engage the government to advance clean energy and sustainable solutions.

Promoting Wellness during the Pandemic Era

WIIN is brought together a panel of women to share their experiences in how they've balanced working in impact investing while ensuring they are taking care of their own wellbeing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The panel addressed the topic from several angles, including how women, especially mothers, in the industry are coping during COVID-19, how employers/managers can support their teams, and share some tips on promoting individual wellness during a time when boundaries often get de-prioritized especially for those working in mission-based industries.
